OMG..I THINK WE FOUND A GRAVE IN OUR BACKYARD! "UPDATE PAGE 11"

There are tons of indian remains around here. 2 miles from my house is a place where Auburn has bought the rights to. THere are lots of burial mounds and stuff. My DH and I are avid native american piece collectors and have a huge extensive collection. I occasionally sell peices to fund my horse habit.

There is an old graveyard close to here miles out in the woods. Some are from the 1700s. There are some in the edge of the woodline that are sunk in and you can see parts of the remaining grave.

Down the street from us is a large cemetary, while driving past in October, my son asked "Mom when are the zombies gonna rise up and eat our brains?".

I agree, thats cool.

We own quite a bit of land, throughout some of it there are old clay headstones as well as cement ones. It is very calm and peaceful, fun to walk out there amoungst them and see how they are

There is a particular woods that has metal grave markers from the 60's there, its good to see family still cared and added those.

I agree with putting it back, best to respect those parted.

I dont have a cemetery or a grave but I kept an antique claw bathtub that is in my home that a man died in lol. My home is almost 100 years old and the tub is beautiful, so I kept it. My son thinks its creepy. Heres a pic.

Ooooh I would love to take a bath in that tub, but i agree with your suon it is a little creepy. I just have a colored cemetary on our property, Its back from the late 19th century.

Oh and two more things:

1- I heard there is a mall somewhere, I think in GA. that the mall company bought up a family plot and one of those cement things that hold several bodies---can't think of the word--- was on the property. The sale stated that they had to leave the monument there and so the mall built a parking lot around it, but it supposedly still stands in this mall parking lot!

2-If you get a name and partial date email me, I have a free membership to Ancestry.com for another couple of days. I can try to identify it for you.

There is an old family cemetary at the edge of my property. A little old man shows up periodically and weedeats it. The only headstone I've ever paid any attention to is a man that died in WWII. I think the cemetery goes with my neighbor's house.

I had a student house sit for me a couple of years back. When I got back home he told me that my house was haunted. When I asked why he thought so, he told me he heard footsteps in the attic and creaking. I told him the house was over 70 years old and just made noises. He then said that the cat would stare at the ceiling and then take off running. I assured him that the cat just liked to screw with people's heads.

Dunno if the house is haunted or not. I've never heard anything. I did tell him later about the cemetery. Freaked him out a bit.
