my youngest daughter was 9 months old when my brother was killed and their is no way she should have known his name when she was 2 years old... she was in her room suposedly taking a nap when we heard her giggling and she asked someone if they wanted coffee... opened the door to her room noone was there but her ... ask her who she was talking to and she said uncle gerald... one day she pointed to his picture and told us it was uncle gerald... several times she had things like that where she was playing with my brother

That's cool chixie! Your brother is looking out for her! I emailed my DD for the cemetary pics. She emailed me back and said "Mom, Why are you putting cemetary pics on a chicken web site?"

I had to laugh! We are so much more than that, aren't we!!

My daughter is 6 now, but since she could talk she has been talking to her "friends". I asked her one day whom she was speaking to, she says,.."Joe and Big John." This floored me a little. My brother Joe passed away back in 94 and our cousin John passed about two years before him. They were good friends and they did call John "Big John." She doesn't talk with them no more, now she talks with her great great papa(this is what she calls him). She described him to a T of being my great grandfather who owned our property, he passed in 1974. She also speaks of grandma Wallace (my great grandmother) and of Elsie and Robert (my maternal grandparents) She had no idea who these people were or are and she talks about them like she has always known them and she told me there names also.It is very comforting for me and my parents to know they all are still hanging around watching over us. I think some people have the gift of "sight" where others don't. Just my opinion though.

LOL.......okay, okay, okay, sorry for the delay folks. I've had an emergency water situation and had to replace a broken water heater. I practically forgot about posting a picture of the stone. WOW.....what great responses to this thread!
Here are two pictures that I took of the stone. I can definately see a number 7 and a number 0. There are no initials, nor name. I do believe it is a grave marker though! The stone either dates 1770 or 1710. (?)
Mr. Dunn, from whom I bought the house, said that in 1988 during construction he had workers to pile stones gathered from the sight in this same area that I found the stone. So who knows from where on the property the stone came from or if it was there all the while? None the less, the stone has been placed back where we found it!
