The point in breeding the bird is not for the USA market. It is for the benefit of underdeveloped countries who don't have the resources to raise and butcher birds that we do. They can't afford and don't have access to air conditioned barns that are required for your typical broiler barn. Here in the south its nearly impossible to raise cornish x's. The heat kills them very quickly. They produce alot of heat. Poultry barns here are very high tech and constantly manned to keep a check on temps. There is also the water issue. It takes a great deal of water to properly clean and pluck a bird. If you only have a quart of water to use each day, you don't want to waste it cleaning a bird.

While I'm not a big fan of commercially raised meat birds, the rational side of me can see the benefits of this bird. If you've read many of my posts you know I've spent a great deal of time in commercial barns and I can tell you this shows alot of promise. I don't see it taking off here in the near future, but it could be lifechanging for some people of the world.
