I'm sorry I don't have NN's, but I know many on here do, did you check the BST posts? I'm SOOOOOO sorry for your loss! We know how you feel! Having to start just about all over again. Hope you figure out whos it was, or SSS. I'm thinking, it will DEF be back for more. From what I hear most do that aren't caught the first time.

I'm wondering if maybe more dog owners are letting their dogs loose now that the weather is nicer, and that's why we are hearing more and more about dog attacks??

Interesting... Maybe they're just that stupid, and/or they're sitting around in an echo chamber taking turns reassuring each other that they've been wronged somehow..

Sorry you guys are having to deal with this.

cmjust0 At this point, I'm inclined to agree with you! Obviously, to them we are WRONG! Even the LAW! Lol (Dumb)....

As of today we haven't had any harrassment, so maybe they did get the #@#@ scared out of them when the sherriff showed up BACK at their door after leaving here! Hope so!

I don't know about that. Around here, most people let their dogs run pretty much year round. I've had a couple of problems with attacks, but I've got the birds pretty well protected now days. Now that I have trained my lab to protect the chickens, we haven't had any trouble at all. Even the big rottweiler next door won't come on her turf. It took her a couple of good fights to convince him it wasn't worth it, but she managed. And she just loves tearing up those possums and raccoons.

If only I can get her to keep those darn rabbits out of my garden, she'll be perfect. For some reason, a rabbit can just lippity lip right under her nose and she'll just watch it.

Hubby just called after getting back to office after lunch at home, and CA had called, and left a msg. He also left his CELL and HOME # and said to call after 9:00p.m.(home). Hubby didn't want to bother him at home as this was about business. Good thing hubby knows him well, as they have been hunting together and CA has a fruit basket delivered to DH's office at Christmas every year. So i'm sure we won't get the run around, but the truth about what needs to be done further. I think I'm going to get a gold f. membership and title myself, squeaky wheel #2 or junior. Lol Thanks everyone! Your so very appreciated for all your help (I just can't say it enough)!!

Edited: If i'm gonna title myself, I better learn how to spell it right first!

Now that's an instance where a .22 would be great

Rabbit Stew..... Mmmmmmmmmmm

The chickens weren't the only ones in danger. Your daughter, who was defending her pets, could have easily been turned on by a very large dog, who could have inflicted a lot of injury. While I can't say for sure that I would pull out a gun to defend my chickens, because I've never been in that situation (knock on wood), there wouldn't have been a second thought, moments hesitation or slightest remorse to protect my child.
