they stay out of jail, and their anger and hurt, festers to the point of ... well their is the Question.
Or they go to jail ... and it festers or diminishes.
Or the family moves before they are released.

To many variables NOT to Proceed with a law suite.

No harrassment last night or all day yesterday! Nice and QUIET! I just bet you anything the father of the boys had alot to say after the sherriff left their home. Otherwise i'm sure it would have been the same or worse here yesterday. IF they do ANY more to us, we will file, and go to court. As far as compensation, the CA told us as we read the letter back to him that HJ helped us with (thanks HJ), that that sounded good to him, so we are sending it out now. We thought and thought about it, but decided DD shouldn't have to do chores and such to make up the money already put into the chickens and the chickens themselves(even though we told her that if she wanted to start getting more eggs and chicks right now WE'D pay for them). So we'll know what they say soon to the letter and the amount. I'll be GLAD when this is all over! It can't come soon enough.

I think you're making the right decision by not pressing charges. Jail doesn't improve anyone's disposition. I for one wouldn't want to be responsible for sending someone to jail for making empty threats. I know they have some other offenses in their past, and if they hold true to form, they'll land themselves in the pokey anyway.
