Yeah, I actually hadn't thought of the whole pro/ con thing- just looked out the window and saw how pretty it was, decided to run out, barefoot, and snap some pics. And then I stepped in it. Blecch. I should know better. Ah well, there has to be SOME down side, right?

Lord, thats some pretty country! Yeah, the poo's the only downside to chickens I think. There's lots of it, and when it squishes between your toes on a nice hot day...

heh heh- I didn't let mine NEAR the garden until most evrything was done- they did snitch quite a few almost ripe tomatoes off the vine though- ones that I was SURE they couldn't reach! Stinkers!

Am I the only one who starts out with good intentions...and ONE pair of yard shoes...then when I'm in a hurry and forget, I end up wearing one pair of shoes after another to the poopier (is this a word?) parts of the yard, until most are not safe to wear inside the house...talk about New Years' Resolutions!
