One green ear?

Hi all,

My Wyandotte has been banished from the cool girl club for a few days again, and yesterday I noticed a greenish ear lobe and some scratches around there. After googling I thought it was probably bruised from getting bullied (I saw the flock queen jump on her the other day, but she escaped) but now I’m wondering if it’s an infection?

What do you think? I don’t seem to get a foul smell from her head, but she was the sicker chick I had with rales from Hilltop.

She’s about 10 months now, started laying late but has been a consistent layer including today.

I have sulfa drugs that helped her recover as a chick and some fish antibiotics handy but our dog/tortoise vet doesn’t see chickens.

Help?

These two are again showing signs of pox, it went thru everyone several
months ago and is back now but seems quite a bit milder.

She mostly hangs out up on a perch to stay away from the barred rock, but everyone is otherwise acting normal so far.

I went out to give everyone some dandelion treats and she came down to get some, but got cornered by the barred rock who pecked her head open on the opposite side!

Poor thing

I sprayed the wound with vetricyn and got some ointment on there, and now she’s separated in the ‘playpen’ next to the run… but while I was cleaning it I realized her whole head is full of green spots and pecks!

So now my question is do I give antibiotics preemptively, and if she heals up ok what do I do about re-integration and the bully?

I don’t see any signs of fowl pox, just a few peck wounds. I would guess that green is just pecks as well. I wouldn’t give antibiotics now.
