I had that happen once back when I had brand new layers. It was funny. Dh and I were outside and we knew the my WL was in the nest box laying an egg. She came out after some time in there screaming "bawwwwk, bawwwwk" like they do sometimes. I told dh she was done and went to get the new egg. I looked in the nest box and noticed the tiny egg. I brought it out to show dh and we never laughed so hard in our lives.

As others said, perfectly normal when they start laying. Until their system figures it out, they can lay small eggs, eggs with no yolk, eggs without a hard shell, eggs with very rough or misshapen shells, or any combination. Usually their systems figure out the right way very quickly. If it lasts a couple of weeks, you need to look for problems.

Pullet eggs are normally a little smaller than an older hen's eggs. Once a hen passes her laying prime, the eggs will get a little larger but fewer in number. The odds of getting double yolked eggs goes up also as the hen gets older.
