Online chicks dying

I bought 8 chicks from My pet chicken, and it’s not even been 24 hours yet and 4 of them are dead. 1 more looks like it’s going to die. I have raised chickens all my life and I doing everything regular like I’ve always done. I’ve never lost this many this quickly. They all seemed lively when I received them yesterday. I’ve put electrolytes in their water, and they’re eating chick starter. I’ve seen them all eat and drink. They have a heat lamp on them and they’re not too hot or too cold. They just suddenly get super weak like, they get to where they can’t stand or open their eyes. They just sleep til they die. I don’t understand and it’s taking a big emotional toll on me, please help

I'm so sorry that sounds awful. Did they have any symptoms coughing sneezing ect.? If not sometimes the chicks just got stressed out during shipping and there little bodies just couldn't handle it.

That doesn't sound right. Do you have any NutriDrench? I would get that in them right away and make a mash of their starter and some egg yolk to see if you can keep the remaining ones from flagging.

Shipping is stressful on chicks. Given how hot it's been in much of the US lately, I wonder if they're dying due to heat stress during shipping?

Shipping is stressful.

Poultry nutri drench administered straight to the beak works miracles..

Double check butts and make sure they aren't pasted as it's deadly fast.

They used to have a 48 or 72 hour after arrival live refund policy, though some hatcheries have recently changed it.. which does nothing for the heart..

No symptoms really, they just seemed to get really weak within an hour. I gave them electrolyte water, and I saw them all eat and drink. I have no idea. All died except one, and the last one is doing really well. I am hoping he/she makes it.

I got those packs of electrolytes and probiotics that you mix into a gallon of water and they all drank and ate. I got one left, and I think it’s going to make it. It’s not having any similar symptoms yet. I gave it egg yolk n keeping it drinking the electrolyte water.

Call MPC and inform them these chicks died in the first 24 hours of receiving them. They will replace them.

Yeah I got that done. It’s just so devastating that these little ones didn’t make it.

I have one left alive. I’ve been giving them electrolytes and probiotics and egg yolk, I’ve even tried a lil sugar water. The one that’s left seems to be doing well, I hope it continues to survive and thrive.
