online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

How do you know they weren't fertile? It is my understanding after incubating that long, you can no longer tell if the egg was fertile or not. You can tell if the egg developed or not, but not if it was fertile. There are many reasons a fertile egg wouldn't developed, it could have been scrambled by the P.O., bacteria could have gotten in the shell, just a couple of examples.

I have had same problem I got 2 sets from oberaslikid first ones nothing this time 3 started but it looks like only 1 is still going so if does hatch I just hope it's a hen:fl

So as being fertile I wouldn't say they weren't fertile shipping was just rough on them.

I have had a lot of problems this year---I think the post office is playing football with the packages this year. Most of what I got shipped to me this year has not done good at all. I just figure its the shipping!

Guys I have been having some of the same experiences latey , from eggs that I know people don't have issues with , but the heat is an issue along with the shipping but I have also been talking with the local post offices and they have been x raying so that makes some big issues in itsself , I have recently received some eggs that were packaged in bubble wrap and then placed ion a egg carton and taped then was wrapped in foil I thought this was neat and an awesome idea if the postal service is x raying so we may need to try this technique out for awhile guys , so wrapping in foil what do you all think of it

No noticable trace of fertility out of 2 orders I aint bashin noone just stating my results
Not even a vein showed well other than mine lol
I lost the BLRW chicks I had and really needed some of these to hatch

That is a good idea, but unless the foil is made of lead, it will offer no protection from the x-rays

I have received boxes of eggs that have been marked "Do Not X-Ray, Live Embryos" maybe that would help.

Yeah before people did write on there do not x ray but I have not received one saying that in awhile ... So maybe if we all start writing on them again it may help but I figure if they juggle the boxes anyway lol how much of a difference can it make of us writing on the boxes again but it is worth a shot

Yes and No.....You have to offer at least one set of eggs that are pure....But......you can offer mixed eggs as long as you offer pure as well. I usually offer.
