online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

LOL now you sound like me. Hunting down people I owe eggs to. Finally found here and had to let her know my car is in the shop and I just could walk the 6 miles to the PO. Oh to be younger. LOL I ended up setting the FBCM eggs I had for her, so once the car comes home, I'll start collecting for her again.

And

My Sportsman is broken again! I had 130 eggs in it and the turner broke. I heard the little piece fall out and ran in the kitchen in time to see it drop to the side and 4 eggs hit the bottom

I have a couple of threads out for help. Bad thing is I was on the auctions looking for more eggs when the stupid thing broke.

Oh man.........Sorry about the ATV accident. I hope there isn't any permenent damage. I'm just really sorry that he is going through this.

I want land and my 15 year old wants one. He's not really coordinated enough and I know so many people who have had horrible things happen to people in their families on them. I'm paranoid to even think of him riding one. He's only been on one twice and that was 10 years in between when we went back to Oklahoma. Now he thinks he knows how to handle one?? This from a bike freak who wants to learn to ride on her own now. Plus I want him to learn. Crazy I know, but we're going to take Highway Patrol riding classes. Can't wait to learn and show up when my teenaged grandkids are hanging out with their friends. "Is that you GRANDMA on that bike?" I like the crazy old lady approach with them.

gamebirdsonly have you candled the eggs I sent yet? I like to hear how they do for everyone.

I'd like to visit the PO with a baseball bat. I've had more eggs show up broken to a couple of people. I'm going back to the way I used to wrap. I never had a broken egg when I wrapped that way and then 5 eggs out of 3 shipments, so I was trying other ways. I just figure they play some brutal game with the boxes. Some boxes here show up almost folded in half and others look great. You open them up and all you have are loose aircells and scrambled eggs.

I had 28 that I candled at lockdown and only 6 made it. Three were from my little Wellie crossed with my Pene and all the others were shipped. I didn't candle until day 18, so I could have had a lot more room with all the clears I had. They didn't even start, but the 3 that started are still going so far.

Man I feel useless when I see how hard people in here work. I know I used to be able to outwork most people I ever knew, but I barely keep up with small things these days. Like lists of people I owe eggs to.

Almost forgot. I did candle a few eggs due this week and my pheasants from gamebirdsonly are growing

I hope I get a blue!

Oh! Someone else is a night owl . I was wondering if other people go out at 1 am to see if the young Polish might need a treat. There were mosquitoes in there, so I had to swat those and then wonder where I might get skin so soft around here. Then I went to check the brooders and see how the babies were doing. I have some gorgeous chicks coming from egg chains, can hardly wait for them to get big. After that, I went in to candle eggs. Sadly, most of my silver pencilled Plymouth rocks were duds. Of course after going cross country with the post office, I guess you almost have to expect it.
The heat is killing me, had migraines two days in a row. But I really need to get some work done so I guess it will have to be in the evenings, I am not an early bird:)

I just hatched out some mixed ducklings and slipped them under a hen brooding a new baby! Yay... More on the way too. I had the two Welsh Harlequin penned together and I threw in the Blue Swedish when the WH girl went broody. I wanted the boy to be occupied and he likes her. Well, my broody girl was stealing the Swedish eggs before I let them out at sunrise! After the first hatch, then nothing for a few days I took her eggs (she wasn't setting them anymore) and put them in the incubator. Each day a baby would hatch and that night I slipped it under her. More are hatching now. I'll let them get stronger before I add them to the very active group she has now.

You guys have to stop with the pics! Now I need ducks????

I already have my first pheasant and goose eggs cooking. I need more quail. man I need help.

Looks like I'll be up all night working on my Sportsman again. I've been trying to find a way to rig the turner arm, so I can stop hand turning all those eggs.

Ya know I've always wanted Cayugas.........people around here like Calls.

I gotta fix this thing and get ducks eggs.

So does anyone have babies from the eggs I've shipped? I think some more should be due.

I do Kim. And I keep meaning to run and look at my turner but I have a 3 yr old attached to me.

I have 2 EE's, 3 CM/old English mixes. 4 of them look like CM and one is red and black. Too cute!

You want to see cute? Wait until I get a pic of this baby goat and figure out how to post it. I was feeding the goats this afternoon, and there he was in the goat shelter, already standing up. His dad is a kiko, and they are up and running in no time. Mom is a Nubian, they start life at a much slower pace. Luckily she had kids before so she knows what to do, and will allow him to nurse. Not all momma goats will do that and you end up bottle feeding. The babies are friendly, but all that milking is time consuming. I'd rather just let the kids nurse off maaa
