What do young Welsummers look like? I did buy some eggs, and was wondering if that is what some of my mystery chicks are.

Cute! Does anyone have pics of some a bit older? Those do look like some I have hatched.
I spent part of the day putting up plastic fence to keep chickens in certain pastures during the day. Dang, it was hot. Then tonight I put up some welded wire fence around part of the garden , I need to get that finished because plants are coming up and critters will eat them.
My well pump quit, I am hoping it is just the switch
I missed the nice cold water today, had to use that nasty city water with chemicals in it.

They look a lot like brown leghorns if you know what those look like. If I remember correctly, their leg color is different, otherwise they are pretty similar. Obviously, the BL would eventually get white earlobes as well, while the wellies would have red.

Here are the chicks I have still in the house from the swaps. The only ones from my birds are the little oegb and the 2 smallest silkies.
The GG Bob Whites are from Lamike and the Jap bantam is from meepitqueenie

Since I failed to upload the current pics of the other 2 silkie chicks, heres one of all the ones in that brooder.

The little silkie on the right has messed up feet, due to humidity i'm sure. It's walking fine now but it's outside toe on both feet are turned under.

I had several clears and an entire swap didn't hatch. I blame it all on shipping and the fact that I was gone for a week with a family emergency and the water wells went dry.

. The other swap had a few PO shipping issues, but have 4 in the incubator from that one that seem to be doing well. They are due to hatch the 13th

I had 1 shipment that was weeks late. I was going to do the float test to see if any where viable but the family accident happened the same day and they sat on the counter for another week. By the time I got home I did the flat test and they all sank. So in the garbage they went. The person I got them from said she will send me more when she can. I don't expect it but I certainly won't turn them down.
