online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

He's doing great. Thanks for asking. His scalp still hasn't grown back to his skull in places and he gets scared everytime he pumbs his head or something touches it but it don't stop him from jumping around like a frog.

He's still with us so far. He don't want to go back to stay with his mother so hopefully we'll have him all summer. Maybe Child services will get on the ball and let us keep him. He's safer with us.

I despise horse flies. They just won't leave you alone and they hurt like the dickens when they bite. I've got a few chiggars now. Last year I was covered in chiggers. So far this year only 3 bites. (knock on wood) After the rain the other day the gnats are back so time to put out the apple cider vinegar again to keep them away from my chickens.

Those chiggers are the worst! I never heard of them until we vacationed in east TN, and I got a ton of bites. The itching drives you insane, almost like poison ivy. I try to wear bug spray all the time and avoid tall grass. Luckily the goats help keep the grass down. How are you doing with that centipede sting, Em?
Guess I need to go get more work done. Have a good one, folks;-)

The sting is better. No swelling. It just feels like I have metal splinters. You know how it feels when you get a metal sliver stuck in your skin and everytime you rub it, it feels like you get an electric jolt. But it't not as bad as that just similar. I rarely take benadryl so it really had me groggy all day yesterday and I only took 1 pill the night I was stung. I still feel tired but I have to get going and get some things done. I have to clean under the grow pen because I had ducklings in it and we all know how messy they are. We want to get the grow pen back out of the shed for the summer. WE put it in the shed for winter to help keep the chicks out of the elements of winter. But it's too hot in there now. I also have to take the large panel off so we can get the pen out. Lots a work to do. After that I have to clean the ducks little pond. I'll be glad when we get a drain and filter system put on it. I just hate to see them swim in green muck. And they are so happy to have clean water too. Can't say as I blame them either.

So I have to get off here and get some work done. I have to have a photo shoot with my black orph roo to show on the thread to see if he is show worthy. I want to put him in a show in Sept. But I have to find out if he can be in one first.

Well, I sold my Delawares so today I cleaned out that coop. I want to replace the perches and do a few minor repairs, then I plan to move the Polish into that coop since they are lighter birds and fly pretty well. It is the upstairs apartment, so they have to fly up to the window to get in. I actually built it for guineas but the racket drove me crazy so they had to go. Hauled another wagon load of old hay out of the barn down to Goldenrod Gulch. The erosion there was very bad, but I have been working on filling up the bad spots and planting grass so it is looking better.
Had to drive to the PO to get my eggs today that should have been delivered Saturday. That carrier says she pulled in the driveway and honked. BS! I was up and so was hubby. I think she is afraid of our LSG dog, but he is harmless to people, just big and hairy. I think she was just in a hurry and didn't bother.

The peanuts, corn and beans are up in the garden. I still have a lot of planting to do. Tonight I pulled a lot of weeds and made the chickens happy. I picked a few raspberries while I was working, just melt in your mouth.

That happened to me two egg shipments ago, the person had written "CALL FOR PICK UP" stupid PO I checked the DC online and it said they had tried to deliver it and left a notice in the box, BS there was no such thing and they did NOT try to deliver it, nor did they call.... stupid PO ticks me off sometimes! However I got em the same say I didnt wait for a notice I went straight to the PO and told them I check the DC and I knew that the box was at the PO and they had to go find it! I got em too lol.

I went to the Jackson P O today, and I got po'd. After I paid to ship my two parcels of eggs, the guy threw them in a bin!

But what good would it do to say anything, they can just go get the box after I leave, and really give it a working over. It's a wonder any of them hatch!

I know what you mean. A couple of years ago I handed my mail carrier a ready to go box of eggs. I told her what was in it and it's very fragile and to handle very carefully. She took it and tossed it to the back of her truck. All I could do was stand there in awe. I take the boxes personally and the ladies always know when I come in with a box that it's eggs. They are always careful with them at least while i'm there. I'm almost sure they are careful after I leave too. I've had alot of good reports on the condition of the eggs when they arrived and reports of good hatches. There have been some bad ones as will happen. And I figure if I don't get a complaint then things must have went well.

I'd like to think so anyway.

maybe thats why they call it being P.Oed.... because of the PO lmao.... haha. Been a long day for me ladies! I will have Em and Shellys eggs out in the morning along with this months gift swap.
