online Crazy Egg Chain Chat thread

Funny, that's what goes on around here all the time! I came back from buying feed to find Buttons out of the pen made of welded panels, don't know how she got out, they are four feet high and too solid to tramp down. Then Thelma and Louise were out on grapevine hill. That must be why the lady was selling them, they are always getting out.
On the plus side, I have a guy that says he is coming to buy all the leghorns, sorry guys , no hatching eggs for the egg chain. I am cutting back, vacation coming up, and a new grandbaby in late July so I will need to go to Florida. Can you believe I have 4 empty pens right now??? But that will not last, I have a lot of young ones coming up.
A lot of the chickens are broody, another of my buffs is on the bandwagon now. Well, at least it keeps them off the streets!

I AM TOTALLY SICK OF PREDATORS!!!! Now two of my speckled Sussex have been killed and eaten by Black Vultures! Probably 30 feet from the barn, and I was probably 30 feet from there, trying to put up barbed wire to keep the goats in the OK corral. When I drove by, I noticed the others were all inside the chicken tractor, when they had been running around looking for bugs. So far, I know we have lost chickens to dogs, foxes, raccoons, hawks, and now vultures. These things are mean, a local farmer says they kill newborn calves too. So if anyone has a shotgun for sale, I am in the market.

bwahahahahaha, I got a good one, what you need is a gun for hire, that would be better than getting a gun

I would be your gun for hire, lmao I get rid of all my pests the easy way for sure

I got my swap eggs for this month from Shelly, and they were all in perfect shape, lots of extras, what a doll!
Did I tell you I am now on a project to run barbed wire along the tops of the fences:mad:? To try and keep the goats from mashing them down. I discovered many of the posts had few or no clips, so no wonder the goats can smash them so easily. Looks like DH was taking a shortcut that day. after I put an additional post and lots of clips, I put 2 goats into that pasture, and one went directly to the spot where it had been stomped! She knows that there are delicious grape leaves on grapevine hill! Then I was filling a water bucket for that pasture, and I get way the heck out in the outback, and the pump is hardly pumping at all, just kind of a drizzle coming out. DH was supposed to fix it, but he showed me how to wiggle the wires and get it going again... as if that helps when you are at the back of 10 acres!

I really do appreciate any help I get, but why do a half baked job???

I have that same problem Deb.. not with the goats.. or the pump.. but as much as I love my hubby.. often he gets started with something he gets sidetracked... and doesn't get back to that original job. He is on vacation the second week in July and the "plan" is to finish the back yard fence..that has only been a TWO YEAR project. I do alot outside.. as do most country woman..lol.. but there are a few things I can not do by myself. His work schedule leaves him only Sunday and Monday to really do much.. as he has to sleep to get ready for the night of driving. He prefers us working side by side.. and that isn't bad.. except I am more a "worker bee" and he is a "thinker bee".. I can sometimes lose patience..lol.

However - at the end of the day - I have a good man that loves me and loves animals as much as I do.. I can overlook incomplete chores.
