Online standard of perfection.

I know you are incorrect on the last bit. Frizzles are judged very differently now than they were eight years ago. Dutch added one or two varieties about two years ago. Not sure what else, but I expect a fair amount.

I just do not understand why this thread has gone on this long. B&W copies of the book can be found for 10-14 dollars at the most $20. Have you (the OP) contacted the APA and suggested that they make the SOP available on-line for a lesser fee. They might consider it since they are having trouble raising capital for the new book. After all the APA is who you should be talking to not us on BYC, it is their book. IMO. As for copyright laws I really do not know anything about them so I can not add to that conversation.

I am sorry I upset some people. Thank you for your information and help.
I was not interested in trying to rip anyone off.

Actually there have been several breed/variety additions since the last Standard was published.

It would be nice for those to be available online at the APA & ABA websites so that they are all in one place rather than having to look through various yearbooks to compile the information.

I absolutely agree.
The ABA just elected new officers who are much more web-inclined. I expectv to see their website get much better.
The APA website, sad to say, hasn't changed much since it went up & it isn't very useful.

The ABA website has already got a lot better in just the last few months. With Matt Lahmon in charge I expect it to really improve.

You are right about the APA and its website. I know I will get in trouble with a certain friend of mine here in Texas for saying this, but it is almost like the APA is just treading water sometimes. They want to progress, but they just can't pull it off. But that is a whole new thread.

Since I was trying to find the SOP after reading about it here and really don't have the money to buy it I did some digging and found a B&W copy online. Here is the URL; http://archive.org/details/americanstandard00ameriala I hope that this is something that will be helpful I know that it is a 1910 version but it's free and two of the breeds that I have were in the book. Hppy hunting.
