Oops... I may have gotten some chicks!

We have 13 pullets and hens right now, but of course I want more! We are zoned for only 12 birds and no roosters, so I might need to wait on my dream. Our two older hens who had stopped laying after a raccoon attack just started laying again . We don't cull the hens who stop laying, so there's usually a pretty big lag between our chick batches. I'm so envious of all of you!

My oldest are just now only a year old, so I haven’t been faced with keeping hens that aren’t laying anymore. Knowing me, they won’t go anywhere! They will live out their happy days here where they started! I love them too much lol

I’m currently wide-eye watching my new chick additions. I don’t want to set up a second brooder if I don’t have to, so far so good, so fingers crossed!

Oops I did it again! Lol. I did not plan on getting any more chicks. I was just going to wait until a hen went broody then put the eggs I wanted chicks from under her. Well.... I went to the store to get more feed and came home with four extra fluffy butts! You're not alone in this!

I got two lavenders and two feather foot bantys

We were gone start with five.... then we added 8 more.... then another 3.... now we have 8 more on their way. We have lost many, a few to heart break, and many that have gone to new homes. Currently I only have nine. But 8 more coming!

I love bantams!! Sadly, all 8 I got last year ended up being Roos I tend to stick to pullets just because I don’t like to rehome, but my oh my are Banty Roos beautiful!!
