Hi, Awhile ago, a few people help me figure out what one of my hens had. We all agreed she had bumblefoot. I was able to open up her bubblefoots and clean it out. However she had one on the top of her foot. The top one was gross and weird. I was too afraid to try to get the bumble out. I was afraid I would damage her acual feet (tendont, bone, etc). IllI post a picture of the open wound. Please help me out with figuring out what to do next. Thanks

Question: is that the same foot?
An after photo on top and a before picture below?

That’s a good one because it’s “cheesy”
Don’t be afraid to squeeze and dig it out.

Could you also post a picture of the bottom of her foot.

I’m asking to see if she has a corresponding bumble from underneath.

I had a hen who had that and I had to dig from the bottom of the foot clear through the top.

Then I made a penrose drain out of a wide rubber band that I cut so that it was one long strip, sterilized it, then inserted it through and tied it in a loose knot.
I kept it in place to keep the channel open for five days, soaking the foot daily and copiously flushing the open channel with dilute betadine.
On day six I removed it but continued soaking her foot every other day for the next week until the holes closed.

I'll post a Picture of the bottom of her foot. But yes a before andaafter Pic. Also, the inside of her foot was hard not squishy. So it was very hard to figure out what was bone/tendon.
The bottom of her foot had a Similar thing. ItsI allahealed up now though. I believe it to not be related to her top one though
