Opinions of cold climate chicken keepers needed

Pics
My barn, which house goats is not heated and is only about 10 degrees warmer than the coop. I considered moving them in there to create more heat amongst them all. But it’s not ready for chickens and there is more in there they could get hurt on so i think it would do more harm than good.

When i took them all fresh water this morning they were all in the same spirits as usual! Acting like have never been fed and chatting up a storm. They are active and seem like they are doing fine. On super cold days like this i do mix their crumbles with warm water to make a hot oatmeal like mash. I do one in the morning and one right before sunset to get some warm food in their crop to keep them nice and warm through the night.

I am learning though that the coop will need some more reinforcing this spring to prep it for next winter. Maybe when it’s 50 this weekend i can seal some of the cracks!

We're sitting at -48F right now
Brrrr! Now I really feel guilty. I've been spending my morning on this website because I'm procrastinating about shoveling the snow in 20F. It's only 3 -4 inches of the fluffy stuff, not worth putting gas in the snowblower. Please be careful in the cold. Thinking of all of you in the deep freeze with warm wishes. :love

It's -24 actual temp this morning, -48 wind chill. Chickens are up and moving around, that's more than I can say about me, haha.
OK, I'm done. My chihuahua is giving me the evil eye to get moving. OMG!!! A Fischer Cat just ran through my yard!! I ran out to check on the chickens and they're fine. I'm still shaking. Fischer cats are nocturnal, scary to see one in the bright daylight.

-28 actual, -48 with windchill.

I don't have a thermometer in my coop, but I'd guess it to be sitting at about -20
Are you in Illinois also?
Easy to add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
