    So I am in Canada and Murray McMurray is in Iowa(I think it's Iowa), would it be bad to order chicks from so far away?
    Is McMurray a reliable place to order chicks or feed from?
    Has anyone ordered their organic feed before? If so is it any good?(Obviously I mean good for the chicks and not good for me.)
    Is there a feed you suggest?

    There are many hatcheries and McMurry is one of the better ones. There are a few good ones which also include;

    What makes hatcheries a good one has to do with there willingess to assist after you receive the batch of kids. The other reason to order from reliable hatcheries has to do with how close they are to you logistically wise. The closer the are to the receiver the less stress that is directed to the batch of chix coming. Better hatchery will take care of you in the event you need assistance if something goes wrong like eggs to hatch are damaged by the mail or the freight company or if one or more kids are dead or damaged in the shipping. Best of luck to you.

    Well Folgerrd, if it's any comfort I've ordered for 2 years from McMurray and had them shipped to Alaska. Both times they arrived 100% alive. Last order was mailed at 5pm on Thursday, arrive at 6am Saturday. This year I split the orders between 3 hatcheries, waiting to see how they arrive.

    Thanks guys but it turns out it doesn't matter, they can't ship to Canada due to differences in health regulations.
