Ordering Online - I think I made a mistake

I'm really worried right now. I haven't ordered poultry in years. I am ready for a few ducklings again and after a ton of deliberation, I just placed and order with Metzer Farms. I selected the June 21st ship date (Monday, the 20th is a holiday) and my confirmation email says they will ship the 21st-23rd. Has anyone experienced their birds being sent out later in the week? I live in Massachusetts and I'm terrified they won't arrive before Sunday and will be stuck somewhere and die. I'm feeling like I shouldn't have chosen to order them on a shorter week. Does anybody here have experience with ordering birds from the US West coast to East coast? Hopefully I am just needlessly freaking out and all will be fine. I usually go with McMurray hatchery because they are closer but I have heard better things about Metzer's customer service and my neighbor just got healthy ducks from them. I'm still scared. Looking for reassurance I guess.

I am not on the east coast, but can share that I ordered ducklings from Metzer and all of mine arrived healthy the day after I was expecting them. I was worried too, but it actually worked out really well. Love my flock and the care Metzer farms took with the shipping and notification.

Good luck!

They have a facility in Tennessee now that they are already shipping animals from. You can always call them ask where they will be shipping from.

Also not all the ducks hatch on Monday. So they will be spread out during those couple of days. When I had my orders, they were pretty small orders and often shipped out on Tuesday.

This is what their website said when they were moving here to Memphis:
“Orders ranging from 2 to 5,000 ducklings and goslings will be taken to the Memphis FedEx hub, flown direct to their customer's local airports the same day, and delivered to their local post office for pick up the next morning.”
So, you should have them without any trouble.

Oh, this makes me feel so much better. It turns out I actually ordered from them last time I got birds too, and they all arrived safe and sound that time. I had no idea they had a facility in TN now too. Hopefully that's where they'll be coming from.

I don't mind if they ship on Tuesday or Wednesday, just as long as they get to me before the post office is closed up for the weekend. I also realized I hemmed and hawed over my order so long, I ordered after the hatchery closed for the weekend, so I wonder if that might affect things as well. All I can really do is wait and see I guess. :hmm

They all shipped from TN on Tuesday afternoon, and I picked them up from the post office super early this morning! They ate all their grow gel and are all eating and drinking and looking great! I figured I was worrying over nothing and I know Metzer knows what they're doing, but I'm so relieved they're here. I will take some better pictures later once they've had some more time to settle in. :celebrate

That is great that they arrived safely! They are adorable!

I ordered two goslings and three ducklings from them and they were shipped Tuesday. They’ve been sitting at my local distribution center since 3:30 this morning. I’m getting a little nervous - I ordered from Metzer last year and got them faster all the way from California than this year from Tennessee. Not Metzer’s fault obviously - but they pack well and might be in on the afternoon truck.

I hope they all arrive soon! I know, it's so stressful waiting and not knowing what's going on. Are you able to call your distribution center to check if they're really still there? Mine weren't scanned the entire time so I had no idea where they were along the route until the post office called me. You could even check with your local post office to make sure they didn't arrive yet.
