They do look like Nankins to me. Either that or Nankin crosses. I will add, though that Nankins have red ear lobes, so if they have any other color, they are mixes.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I lost my "Lil Red Hen" alias Red, but as I recall, she had white ear lobes, so must be crosses. But she was the sweetest thing, she used to jump up in my hands, and occasionally fly up to my shoulder (and head a few time LOL). I have a couple of her daughters and the orig. roo so I am going to try to raise some babies this spring. At least I have an idea what they are now.

Is anyone going from the Portland area going to be coming down to Eugene, Springfield or Cottage Grove on the 9 of March, or sometime shortly thereafter.? I am still trying to figure out where I want to get some ducks. I want two or tree sexed little ones. So far my options are order more than I need and sell them or just get unsexed and deal with it. As far as I can tell the farm stores around here only sell straight run. I just noticed that Urban Farm Store has sexed ducklings on the 9th...I am thinking that if I was going to drive all the way up there I might as well just pay for shipping and small order charges..but if someone just happened to be coming down her around that day....maybe we could work out a duckling taxi service????

Can I get on the main list? Here's my updated list:

Have:
Frizzled silkies 3 weeks old (dark colors-looking like blue and partridge) from Emvickry
Silkies 3-6 weeks old (blue, partridge, splash) from Emvickry
2 6 month old Silkie Roosters, pet quality, from Catdance. I believe one is Tortoiseshell and and one is black. Very fluffy and pretty.
Heritage RIR, Roosters and maybe some hens. In incubator now, to hatch in 2 weeks. from lucky pickens
Swedish flower hens. Roosters and possibly a splash hen or two. 6-8 weeks old right now My favorite breed of chicken, these guys are GORGEOUS!
Lavender Ameracauna Chicks. My Rooster is from Pips and Peeps. My hens are Blehm/Shaffer
Blehm Ameracauna Chicks-I had to order 25 which is more then I need. Not sure when they are coming-Black, Lavender, and wheaton.
Split Silkied "Fluffy" Ameracauna project chicks in blue and splash.
BBS Ameracauna chicks from LavOrpgirl.
Tomato and pepper plants-open pollinated and heritage types.
Used corner hay feeder
Cool-lite egg candler (new and unopened)

Need:
Egg Baskets.
nest boxes.

Have you tried your local flooring store? Most have really cheap remnants. I bought a piece for my coop for $8. The remnants can be pretty large and still quite cheap. We bought our window at the Rebuilding Center in Portland. We paid a little more for a multi pained window, but it was still only about $10. I would think there would be a similar place down your way =) Or like Cloverleaf said, try Craigslist. I see them listed there all the time. (Sometimes free)

So, here is my new deluxe coop my DH and friends worked on for me. So far roof is up but needs door, chicken doors, etc and then I can put the runs on. I have a question - are there better places that habitat for humanity for cheap vinyl flooring to put in it and also some cheap windows? Any ideas (hopefully near Salem/Corvallis) appreciated
.

Thanks, I had thought a flooring store might be expensive. I will definately give them a try.

This is kind of a weird request, but does someone have an incubator that I can rent? I'm willing to pay and ship it back to you when I'm done. I've had someone else hatch for me, but I really want to experience it for myself. It's the last aspect of chicken-keeping I have yet to experience!

Edit: Found some!

Also, is anyone bringing any silkie hatching eggs? If so let me know what colors in a PM.
