Oregon Spring Poultry Swap May 5, 2012 in Canby!!!

This is so exciting! I'll work on my fiance to see if he'll let me go. :p He's very worried that I'll pick up a whole boatload of chicken.

Bringing:

2 Salmon Faverolle Cockerels (under a year), from NoneSuch Farms show stock
If there is any interest, I can bring my craft specialty: Egg christmas ornaments. I can probably get about 30 done by the time of the swap.
And may possibly bring 1 Salmon Blue Faverolle cockerel (under a year) from NoneSuch Farms stock. But only iff he turns male on me. If it's a girl, she's all mine! :p

Want:
Non-salmon standard Faverolle hens
Anything not nailed down.

I'd like to call first dibs on one of the Faverolles boys. I want to wait to see what they'll look like by then, of course, but very interested.

Also, I am going to be starting a large fowl black Faverolles project this year that I can keep you posted on! ;) I might have some buff project girls available that won't be FULL large fowl size, but some of them might be pretty big. It's a buff bantam project that I had to use a large fowl buff Orpington for. This generation is 3/4 Fav, 1/4 Orp...

Hope you can make it!!!!

Wow I haven't checked this thread in a few weeks (or maybe a month now!)... suddenly there are 102 posts I need to read haha. Sorry... this new BYC format has kind of caused me to cut back on the hours I spend waste away on this website. It's probably for the best.

So, I have an update. I have some bantam cochin eggs coming to me tomorrow in a variety of colors from really nice birds (mottled, blue mottled, splash, blue, lemon blue, silver laced, calico/mille, lavender-black split). Don't know what will hatch, but I will most likely not be able to keep them all. They'll be about 2 months old come time for the swap so if anyone is interested I can keep you updated on which colors/sexes hatch.

Also, if anyone is interested I have a pair of 8-week-old seramas that I'm trying to give away. The cockerel is the dominant one in the bunch and he's sweet enough when you have him alone (he still likes to fall asleep in my hand) but he just picks on the others when they're together. The pullet he's bonded to is the only one who dishes it back out to him... it's actually pretty funny. He just kind of melts in front of her. I just don't have the room to keep them in a separate cage. All my other babies seem to get along just fine (even with the younger ones). If you have questions or want to see pics, just pm me!

I'd be honored to hold them for you! From what I'm seeing so far, the first salmon boy who hatched is going to be a huge bruiser of a roo. He was the largest at hatch, and continues to outpace all the others. I'm not sure about the second salmon boy, as he's the smallest of the group, and prone to eye problems. He's a sweetheart though, so we'll see if he catches up. I may stick a dress on the blue salmon boy and tell my neighbors he's female to throw them off his trail. :p He's just too pretty!

And you called it on their fluff falling off their second toe, almost all the chicks have lost it! *victory dance*.

Maybe I'll trick my fiance and tell him this is a bridal show, and he won't even ask about coming along to supervise me (yes I need supervision when it comes to buying chickens :p).
