New to OR or new to BYC? Either way, welcome! I got my first batch of three chicks (1 BO, 1 Black Australorp, and 1 Delaware) all the way out at a feed store in Eagle Creek. I ended up with 2 out of 3 roos though, and they were no help with trying to rehome. When I wanted to get more chicks I ended up going to Livingscape Nursery in North Portland. If you look them up on the internet they actually post what breeds they have and when new batches are scheduled to arrive. They have great variety and have regularly scheduled workshops on urban chicken keeping. I ended up getting a Gold Laced Wyandotte, Rhode Island Red, and Barred Plymouth Rock. I am so excited about the GLW - I am 99.9% sure it's a pullet at 4 weeks. The other two are still too young to tell for sure, but i am hopeful since they are feathering out fairly quickly.
Pistils Nursery in NE also carries baby chicks, but they are straight run. I think Foster Feed?in SE also has baby chicks, but I've never been there to check their conditions out. Good luck in your hunt!
