These were developed and bred by a good friend of mine from AZ, but she only ships to new breeders because they are still so rare (in 25-chick lots) and that's too many for my little brooder/coop setup and I am totally not able to be a breeder.

They are an american version of the swedish flower hen. They are doing really well for her and are easy keepers and prolific layers... anybody interested?

I might be, but I'm not ready for birds yet as I'm still building my coop. It would probably be next March tho if she's amenable to that ;~)

Hey southern oregon peeps! I am in gold hill/rogue river area. BLM all around. Anyone have problems with bears getting to your chickens? We have seen them occasionally around our property...

I'm in Wilderville, we see them occasionally but they leave us alone so far. Friends out in Williams have had the siding ripped off their coop and all the birds killed. I've been told hot wires at the top and bottom work pretty well but can't speak from personal experience.
