it's cool that you can keep chicks there, but then again there are folks along the NW expressway that have ducks and chicks (close in near Park) so I guess it's kinda relaxed uo that way - depending on your neighbors too, sounds like you've got good ones, did your chickens arrive today? If you need some younger ones later on I may have a few extras... (all 5 weeks or less at the moment)

We're right off Park, and met at least three families on our tiny little street last night who have chickens.

And yes, our two girls arrived today. They are so fat and lovely! A Buff, about 2, and a RIR, 8 mos. They really want to go out but seemed to be a little happier when the kids brought them a bucket of snails. DH is a little more convinced of their usefulness now:).

Northeast Oregon.
I've been cruising through the Oregon thread looking for eastern oregon folks...they are few and far between kinda like this part of Oregon I guess. Anyway, I'm from Union which is near LaGrande and Baker City...love to hear from others from this neck of the woods.

Eugene area folks: if you need some of the larger holed chicken wire - there is a listing on Craig's List - 2'x150' rolls for $5.00 a roll - so it is a deal because even if you double it up off-set to make the holes smaller that is still less than half what the regular stuff is - it's new on the rolls but has been sitting for a while and some of the rolls have some rusty spots but mostly it looks pretty good - might not be strong enough for overnight protection but for a daytime run it should be fine (I bought 8 rolls) they have a fair amount but if you want some I wouldn't wait too long - it is in the farm and garden section posted yesterday.
