Organic frustrations.....

Personally I would be more likely to guess it to be the corn; corn is difficult to digest. If you feed a corn-free cat or dog food (to your cat or dog), both volume and odor of the poop go down drastically.

It could be the corn? I feed about 10% of the mix as corn... I do correlate pasty butt with chicks more directly to soy though..When I stopped soy I got less of it, but I can not say for sure though, because at the same time I switched to home made feed and sprouts and whole grains and fish meal... So I suppose it could be the addition of those that helped more than the removal of soy???????

The characteristics of my birds droppings appears to be a function of the fiber content. Insolulable fiber makes for a larger volume per bisket. Soluble fiber makes for biskets that stick together better during drying process.
