I just took the picture.....no effort to make them stick their necks out. That's why I shot the group. If you get to Ventura you will see some older ones I entered.

Phoenix aren't classified as Oriental, more ornamental/longtail type and some may call them "Asiatic" but I've never seen/heard it done. The term Oriental is usually only applied to Oriental Gamefowl (Shamo, Asil, Thai, Burmese, Sundanese, Malay, Ga Noi (Don/Cua), Ga Ho, Tuzo, etc) and occasionally Sumatra/Cubalaya.

I've got Asil!!! well, one. the stag should be here today or tomorrow. I believe she is 4 months old, the result of a Harris x Viper cross bred back to Harris. Carr was too kind in helping me acquire some of these birds. I know she is not perfect, but for the sake of learning could you guys point out the good and the bad that you notice on this bird, please? I know her eyes could be more pearl. Thank you,

P.S. don't mind her little "pen-mate" (which actually had to be taken out that evening when she "turned").

Nice birds. My stag may be a Harris x Indian back to Harris. It's either that or the same thing as the pullet. I'll let you know for sure when I post pics of him.
