You lost me with this one brother. Ain't nobody ahead of anybody. This is something we all want to work together on; that is the only way it is going to be done. Carl was on Championship Row with a Black Shamo Pullet at Crossroads. Impossible to be there with a Black Asil (lg fowl) anything. Which is what we are talking about doing.

The Standard will need to be in the format used in the SOP. Is white a DQ or a cut? How much white is a DQ? What about red feathers? They are usually in the males hackle/saddle. I can work with you on this. Red is currently a DQ in black birds, but purple is just a cut per section of the bird.

There are a lot of blacks around, so this should be fairly easy.

Oh yeah I understand about the format. I was just giving folks some information based on the Standard. More than 1/2 inch of white or 2 or more feathers tipped in white is a DQ. We need to work on getting the red out of the males period. Ok on the purple: I just don't like it at all. lol. I like a good green sheen.
Actually the whole format if written like the Black Shamo is only about 7 or 8 lines long as you already know of course.

This may sound like a silly question for you experts, but is the Saipan Jungle Fowl actually a breed? When I posted a failed "Saipan Jungle Fowl Thread" shortly after I joined BYC, someone on that thread told me that the whole B.W. Saylor story is basically a lie and that Saipans are just tropical mutts resulting from native Saipan chickens breeding with imported Japanese chickens like the Shamo. I wanted to know from you guys if you think that is true. It sounds somewhat logical, but I'm a newbie to Oriental enthusiasm, and do not know what has transpired among Oriental breeders here in the US since Saylor's time.

If Saipans are actually a real breed and not just another mutt, is there a standard for them to breed to? Are there actually any pure Saipan breeders out there?

Thanks!

I didn't say it was at Crossroads. Carl has had Champion AOSB on a Black Aseel hen. Tom
