Ok, I know these aren't as beautiful as your birds, but I went outside and tried to get my Thai to sit still. Hah!
They are about 6 months old right now.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Ideal hatchery only sells bantams of black sumatras. So the're supposed to be small!

By "not game", do you mean they didn't have a tendency to fight, or that they didn't have the oriental posture (i.e. erect carriage, long neck and legs, etc.)? Either way, I appreciate the info, especially about Ideal's Sumatras. I came VERY close to buying some, but thank God you said what you said about them being small!

I want chickens that are big enough and game enough to defend themselves.

The term "game" has little to do with the "tendency" to fight. "Game" reffers to the drive that makes a rooster, dog, etc. fight til death, even if he obiously is losing. Many people think "game" means mean, or a man fighter. Not so. It is the innability to accept defeat.......Pop

Nice! BTW Ish, about how old is that stag that I got from you? His free ranging ended today. Late this evening the feral rooster was cutting across the yard and evidently the shamo saw him. I happened to see them out the window. He would have killed him. The feral was desperately trying to run off...I don't know why he didn't fly away. I pulled the shamo off him. He was trying to stomp him. He was not happy with me at all! Tomorrow we put the sides up on a aviary. That should keep him in. And I will be putting site barriers up as well.
