3 of my orpingtons have much darker and more mature combs that just developed. They were supposed to be sexed but I know that isn't an exact science so I'm concerned some are Roos, or hopefully they are just maturing quicker. I'd appreciate some input :). Here are 3 that I could get a quick picture of... The closer one is less developed as the back 2, as you can see.

Well, I am a total newbie to the world of chickens but we have Buff Orpingtons as well and all I can tell you is based on what I have observed in our little flock. I don't think you have roosters because our Buff rooster is only 13 weeks old and he is crowing like no body's business and has a pretty good sized comb and wattle.

Here is what he looks like at 13 weeks for comparison with your babies:

Hope this helps!

I am not seeing roosters- rather a couple of girls a little closer to laying than the rest of the group -- and they are at the right age for that to start coming into play.

You have pullets 100%. At this age males would have larger and redder combs and wattles. Hens won't get the red combs and wattles until they are approaching the laying age.

Thank you for the help :). After 2 years of research and prep we finally took the chicken raising plunge and are finding it's more of a learn as you go thing :). I appreciate the responses!

We have a few americaunas as well and while they are all nice birds only the BO run up to us and willingly let us touch them. :).
