Going to do half for young chickies and the other half for chicken storage, cant wait.

Here's our coop that we use now. What you can see of it anyway, I couldnt find a better picture. My son and cousin who was visiting were having a snow ball fight

We have 9 red sexlink hens, our white EE, a buff orpington hen and a buff orpington rooster in there now. When we get the big one finished, the orpingtons and the EE will move into the big coop with their breeds (when their big enough for company) and then some of the pullets will go out with the hens. Our goat pen is right next to the chicken pen and they are also getting an upgrade this spring. My grandma lives right next door and she is selling her house and moving in with us so the 8 x 12 shed she has on her property is coming over to replace the large dog house our two mini goats have since we are getting two bottle babies sometime late this month for 4H. I'm telling you, we are going to have a VERY busy spring!!

Just think, this all started with some chicks my son got for his birthday! We built that coop last May for those chickens, never thinking we would end up wanting so many

Now its an addiction!

That would be really nice to have a chickie shed! Then I wouldnt be dusting everyday lol

Thats nice too... you sound like me with the chickie addition

I went ahead and shut down the bator and opened the 13 eggs, all dead at different stages

My son really wanted silkies for 4H and I ordered eggs from someone on ebay who I've seen on here. We are down to two eggs out of 18 last night at lockdown. They werent packaged very good and now he is so bummed that he said last night he doesnt want to hatch eggs anymore

It's so fun when it goes good and so sad when it goes bad. Hopefully it will get easier since this is our first time, but its hard not to be sad. I just hope the two left hatch for him.

I hope the 2 hatch for you... I want some silkies too, I have someone who is going to ship me some this spring/summer.

I have Buff Orpingtons, RIR's, Easter Eggers, bantams... they are all together and have had chickies I have 5 mutts from Sept. and Nov. hatches with broodies, then the chickies I hatched out.

My plans are to separate my Buff Orpingtons this summer to keep them pure ( I think I have 20 pure hens and 2 roosters )

I'm selling my 3 RIR hens this weekend

I'd like to have a separate area for my bantams

Then an area for my barnyard mix

Then a pen for silkies
