I'm sorry. I really don't think you did get the CX. I did 4 last Saturday at 8wks on the nose and the two smallest dressed out at 6.5lbs. They grow exponentially the last 3wks and can barely walk now and aren't even 9wks old. Did you get these from a local feed store or order them online? You might want to let the remaining grow out a couple more months if you can for a heavier bird. At 12wks my last cockerel dressed out at 10.5lb and the smallest pullet was 7lbs.

holy buckets!! NONE of ours were that big! My hens that are left (6 of them) are a bit bigger but not by much... I got them from cackle hatchery online. Im frustrated and bummed... they did NOT get nearly that big but DID grow very rapidly for chickens (weve raised 15 laying hens, various breeds) and they are lighter framed/bodied than even my year old buff orphingtons... not mutants i expected lol

I ordered mine from McMurray and I've been really happy with the size and health of these guys. I'm afraid I'm completely spoiled now with bigger birds and my kids see whole chickens at the grocery and shake their heads saying how small they are compared to ours.
