Well my Runners and Buffs mated almost all winter last year my Muscovy's quit in late fall till the next spring. usually in march sometime. So some may have a set breeding schedule but my Runners didn't get that memo. lol

What is the breeding season for domesticated ducks? April through Oct-Nov?

Totally depends..Location and breed of Ducks.

I’d love to know how you broke it.
Ive only ever had This problem once. It seems more common in ducks that were raised with chicks.

My Ducks have been raised around Chickens and they absolutely hate my Chickens. I raise Call Ducks and Huge Brahma and a Orpington Chickens..
