Hey! What's going on in here and why wasn't I invited?
DSC00879.jpg

Ya can't stop me, I'm coming in! (Don't worry, she's not allowed near the chicks)

Window going in. (Habitat for Humanity Restore bargain)

Nest box hole and roosting litter rake-out hole. Vinyl floor installed. Back wall going up.

Rain coming the next few days, time to batten down the hatches.
DSC00883.jpg

DH and DS roofing (and resting) as the sun sets.
DSC00890.jpg

Had to get the lights out so we could work til bedtime.

Good thing we've got our gazebo to store all the construction stuff in!

Chicks are growing like crazy! Had to move them out of their rubbermaid container into a bigger cardboard box. About 2 weeks old here.

We have walls!

At 3 weeks old, we had to "add on" to the chicks box with our old dog kennel. There's a connecting door between the two. They're playing with/eating some grass clumps. Probably a few worms in there too.

Blue semi-gloss trim paint we had in the basement. Will be trimmed in light yellow. All hinges were $1 each, brand new, at Habitat for Humanity Restore (what a bargain, those things are expensive!)

4 week olds enjoying some broccoli from our garden. I can't believe how big they've gotten! (and how big a mess they make too

) Gotta get that coop done!

WOW... tell DH and DS, GREAT JOB!!!

... and you did well with the camera.

The addition to your brooder could be called "The Little Duece Coup"

I'm loving this post--you have great pics of some great work by your DH and DS! You've given me some good ideas.

I can't wait to see what you do with the scoop-out area. Your vinyl floor looks really good.
