Our Mixed Flock Journey!

I feel that my Salmon Faverolles is picked on and I've often wished that I had purchased two, thinking that might have helped her...but there is no way to know for sure!
Until this time, I always worked in pairs. I truly believe it helps create a more stable flock. I broke my own rule this time and I think I'm paying the price.

Time constraints and weather are always a huge factor! I hope you can get it done sooner than you're thinking and I hope it helps...someone is always on the bottom of the pecking order, but I can see that Phyllis is very disadvantaged with her cute little mop top! 💗
She is. It's my job to help her and create an environment where she can live without fear and be her best self.

Yes, Spazzy is my only single...I'm not sure if it would make a difference to get another at this point, but I would like another one! She is her own individual...silly girl!

I think a Mini inside run is better, since after a stretch of time in garage, you have to re- integrate. Inside run in Mini keeps that step un-needed.
The problem with a mini in the run is that you can't quarantine effectively. If you get new or have sick chickens you will need yet another set up to keep them separate.

I do have other options if needed...so I'm thankful! The mini coop will be a great integration place and broody jail...:D

None of it is what I want to do. They have plenty of room. If they would just be nice to each other. 😕 Unfortunately I can't wait any longer for them to figure things out.
I think if you can set a higher roost, even if it's just a couple of inches higher...that could possibly make a big difference...chickens definitely have their own hierarchy and we just have to figure out how to accommodate it to have a peaceful, happy and healthy flock!
