Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Little Roo made it through the night! đź’ž My husband went out first to check on him...I was afraid to...and he was sitting on top of his water bottle! He set him down and saw him pecking at his food! I gave him some mash and he ate a little of it! I left the screen off and he got up on the edge of the tote! So I put the screen back on and was hearing a weird noise, he was jumping up and hitting the screen cover...Now I'm hoping he didn't injure himself in doing so...silly chick! He's still not 100%, but I'm hoping he's over the hump and will make it! He's currently sleeping in my lap! I think my husband is working on a bigger hospital enclosure for him, I don't want to put him back out with the flock just yet! I will continue to give him Corid from a dropper for the next couple of days! Thank you so much everyone! đź’ž

Here he is eating his mash!

That’s great news!
He may perk up even more if he were back with the flock... when were you planning on putting him back? I feel bad for him being alone all of a sudden :(
I was very happy this morning, thank you!
I'm not sure right now...he's not as active as he was :(, so I'm still worried about him going back in with the flock. If he perks up, I might put him in with them and see how he does! I'm just hoping that he didn't hurt himself flying up into the screen!

Oh no... well, I hope he isn’t hurt! And I’m sure you will do what’s best for him... :hugs

Thank you! đź’ž He seems to be brightening up a bit...he definitely doesn't like being alone! We are working on some projects right now! I will see how he is in an hour or so and if he still looks bright I will take him to the flock and see how it goes. I don't want him to get picked on and if he's still to weak, they will definitely do that...chickens can be very mean!

Well, he was trying to fly out of the larger hospital pen, but couldn't quite make it! We decided to place him back out with the other chicks and we also let them out of the coop and into the pen area! Little Roo kept running over to me :love. He looks like he's just about back to normal...I will check on them throughout the day to see how they are doing! I need to make sure that they know where to go back in for their water! I will post some video later...for now, I have to get back to work! :)

I just found this thread, im a huuuuge mixed flock cheerleader.:)
Your little roo, try to keep his energy up with boiled eggs or live mealies and give him a sip or two of Pedialyte
I tend to treat them pretty much like kids when they're feeling poorly.
Oh! You could mix some raw egg and buttermilk for him too, very helpful with tummy troubles.
On a less serious note how do you like the Faverolles?
Is having just the one a problem yet? :).

Welcome, I'm glad that you found me! :frow He is doing so well now, I've been giving him electrolytes! He's running around with the rest of the flock and even ate some food out of my hands, I will have to try the hard boiled eggs, someone else also suggested that! I also have some yogurt for him! I think I will bring him in later and give him a chance to eat without everyone else crowding around.
My Faverolle seems to be doing well, she and Little Roo were the ones that the other chicks were pecking at earlier in this journey. Thank goodness that issue is over! I'm hoping she will hold her own, I probably should have bought a second one, but I only have so much room in my coop!đź’ž
