Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Just realized our snow has all melted - duh!! Probably did so days ago but I nap too much to notice. Besides we can still get snow in March and once had a blizzard in mid April and the next day it all melted.:idunno
Weather is so unpredictable! I hope the weather stays good for you. I think we are safely past the snow...however now we have to watch for frost so we don't lose our fruit! 😊

Maybe one of those naps was longer than you thought! 😉

my quest for colored eggs is on hold for a long time.
Just cheat.:old Stock up on Easter egg coloring supplies after Easter Clearance. Then just show of those eggs. No one will suspect. :idunno

Fun picture!

I only have 5 birds now...the 3 Legbars, 1 Welsummer and 1 white something or other (I never can remember except she's a cross that also lays blue eggs). That's right, somehow I ended up with 4 blue egg layers and 1 speckly brown egg layer.

Here's Bonnie, the white girl (sorry about the poo)

I'm always gazing longingly at the colorful egg baskets I see around the site. But the city limits me to 6 and my old girls are here for the long haul.
Hi Debby! When you have to get more chickens...I hope that's not soon...what breeds are you thinking about getting? I'm assuming Andalusian will be one!

Today we have been working hard trying to fill the grain in all of the upper cabinet doors. I am not well suited to this and would never be able to make a living at it...I'm way to OCD. So if you want good quality work...hire me...if you just want it done fast, you'd be better off to call someone else...:gig After the doors are done (we have 16) we need to do the same thing to the upper cabinets. All of the lowers are finished...yay!
One of the doors that has glass in it, there are 6 of these!

I like those, just not sure how they would deal with our cold, long winters.

Speckled Sussex are definitely on my 'next' list...had some in a previous flock and love them!

As for any others, I'm leaving my options open :)
