Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Oh no, so sorry to hear about that Rene! Do you know who's dog it is?
Thank you Debby! I have no idea who's dog. It's sad but I only kind of know a few of our neighbors around here and we bought our property in 1990, there's a huge language barrier! When I'm in my car I always wave at anyone driving down the main road that lives in this area! I'm waiting to hear back from my husband to see if he wants me to let the sheriff know!

I put in a call to the Sheriffs office, I hate to do that because I'm sure what happened seems trivial to them! It was a waste of breath and time! He told me to let him know if I find out who's dog it is! How am I going to find out, we're in the middle of a pandemic, I can't go knocking on doors! I just know that this dog will be back! 😪

I hesitate to bring this up, but some people believe in the SSS method (shoot, shovel, shut up). Don't know if I could do that myself but others do.

Your rabbits are livestock, you should be able to protect them.

What about hot wire, is that an option?

I also believe in the SSS method, but also hesitated to mention it, I decided to try the only route I knew of that could potentially save it! We talked about a hot wire, but that would be a huge pain...this thing is supposed to be mobile! The tractor might not work in our yard, we might just have to convert it into another hutch and raise it off of the ground next to our other hutches! It won't be able to be as high off of the ground or I wouldn't be able to reach into it, if we leave it with a hinged lid! Next time we see it in our yard! :(

Well I saw our escapee, he's under our Blue Spruce tree! We have the tractor under the Deodar Cedar on the right! I saw him over by the tractor and then he went back under the Spruce! I have the animal trap under the edge of the Spruce tree, hopefully he will get curious and check it out!

Those are some big pines! I hope he decides to rejoin the flock soon.
Yeah, they've been there awhile, I can't remember what year we planted them.

I hope so too, he's got plenty of food to eat, but I hope he gets thirsty enough and discovers the water next to the food in the trap!

On to happier things, some pics of my chicks!

First is my Little Roo! Hi there!!!
