Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Cute pictures...how long did you have the nutria?
Thank you! Not very... a few months maybe.. he was still smallish when he escaped... a friend of mine who does wildlife rehab asked me recently if I wanted one she had as they are not releasable... they are invasive and are destroying our wetlands.. there is a bounty on them.. $5 a tail! But I said no.. that was kinda hard as they are adorable and make sweet pets.. they will follow you around like a puppy! But they will destroy your yard so you really need a good strong fence that they can’t dig out of and a yard of their own... they also eat huge amounts of vegetation!

That's awesome, I have good ones too, but they are quite a bit older than yours! Some day's I feel very old...lol!
Thanks! She is my youngest... we have a 34 year old daughter with 4 children... a 27 year old boy.. a 25 year old boy... a 23 year old boy... then her! They are so spaced apart... I used to be the young mom.. now I’m the old mom

We have 3 - Boy 34, girl 32, boy 29 with 1 child! I used to be the young mom too... 😂

I saw him out there this morning, just staring into the tractor...we were just getting out of bed! It's my fault that we didn't get him, I should have asked my husband instead of my son if we had anything bigger than 8 shot, my son said we didn't, I wasn't feeling well yesterday and I forgot to ask him. Well, we do have bigger shot and by the time Dale found the 00 the dog had left...he will be back again. One of the neighbors that I do know, has seen him at their place and they plan on doing the same thing as us! He had tried to dig under, but was deterred by the cement and the lag screw that holds the wheel bar down!

He's determined!

He definitely is Debby! Hopefully Dale will be able to get the trap today! That way if we can catch him, we will be able to put him down humanely without the risk of just injuring him as he runs off!

It's too bad when something like that has to be done, but doing it humanely is the right way to go whenever possible. Good luck :fl

Neither one of us are looking forward to it! 😪 My husband said he was thinking of tagging it with spray paint and letting it go, to give the owners a chance to confine it! I told him that I didn't think that was a good idea, because they probably wouldn't catch on to what that means and then we might not be able to catch him again, I don't even know if we will be able to trap him at all, I'm hoping so! He told me today that we should be getting the trap tomorrow!

I would guess the owners know he is running wild and they are just being irresponsible. Maybe that's just me assuming too much
