Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Lucky you NFC, my son sent me some hotsie totsie candy brand, came in styrofoam cooler with 2 things of dry ice (evaporated before I opened the box. Candy(with green teas as an ingredient) did not agree with me and spent too much time in the bathroom, plus de-pleated horded TP I was saving for company.

My son is a great guy but he forgets I am his "mom" - I don't need gold and incense etc. A regular Hersey bar would have been great, even just a card (he has sent me some really great, funny, cute ones over the years).

I'm not a girlfriend he needs to "win over," he won me over from the moment he was born (sorta, I had a c-section and didn't come too right away.

He also sent me some hidden word puzzles I used to love to do before BYC. I find I still love doing them but, not till BYC is over for the day.

Most of all I would love to hug him but, he is several states away

Happy Mother's Day DD! Our children definitely steal our hearts from the day they are born! I hope that you'll get to see him soon!

Okay... this morning I almost woke up to a nightmare! I was in the kitchen making breakfast and I look out and see Nilky (my Silkie) walking around their yard I froze!!!! Let me explain how my coop is... my coop is open to my fully secure run.. so the gals can go to bed and get up on their own.. but I also added a yard.. that I let them into in the mornings and put them back in the coop/run in the evenings... well I was sure that I didn’t forget but maybe?! So I run out and am freaking as I don’t see anyone out and about.. and by this time they should have been as its been daylight for at least 20 minutes now.. then I see the door IS locked!! Then the gals started pouring out if the coop! Apparently I locked Nilky out last night! So all was safe! I was shaking in the knees... literally!! The thought that I could have killed my entire flock had me shaken.... I made sure that I did a headcount tonight!!

I would have been terrified too! I'm so glad that they are all present and accounted for! I always do a head count, I think that my husband thinks I'm crazy! I've left the rabbit hutch unlocked(not over night), I was so relieved that they didn't jump out, they could have hurt themselves! Now, I always go back and double check and then I question myself, did I double check...lol

Thank you all. I did email him and it turns out they did NOT send the products he had picked out in their store. I ate them anyway- so no returning them.
