Our Mixed Flock Journey!

Debby, I forgot to ask what you worked on this weekend? I was a little preoccupied with Declan! 💞

If I had a grandkid, I'd be preoccupied too. That has to be a wonderful reward for raising children, to see their kids.

DH & I bought a fixer-upper house in Nov. 2018. And we're still fixing it up :gig It's 2 hours away from where we live now, so it's not always easy to get up there with our 6-7 month long winters and DH's extremely long work hours. But we're getting there, slowly but surely!

They are truly a blessing, especially when we didn't think it would ever happen! 💞

Our first house was a fixer upper, so I know what you're talking about. It was only an hour from where we lived, but only 15 minutes from my husband's new job at the dam. Our oldest was 6 months old when we were finally able to move into it. We didn't have to deal with 6-7 months of winter though, I don't even want to imagine that...we have 4-5 months & that's plenty long!

I’ve been letting Trump and his little gals out and about with the bigs.. it’s going okay.. no one is minding them... except for one of my broodies Petunia... when she gets off the nest for a break she viciously attacks them :barnie ... I saw her ripping feathers out of poor Trumpy Bear!
I am considering rehoming my Silkie and my three Cochin bantams... my girls friend has a tiny bantam frizzle rooster that needs some ladies... and since my Cochins STAY broody I thought they might actually get to hatch finally... but I’m torn cuz I think they will be sad... any thoughts?
Here’s some pics of them.. out and about and checking out the broodies :D

Poor Trump! 🙁 I don't know...my Silkies got attacked initially, but they are doing better now, they aren't even at the bottom anymore. I'm sure that your littles will soon be full fledged members, they might even surpass Petunia in the pecking order, then she'll have to do some soul searching...😂 If you're worried about having to many, maybe now's a good time to rehome, but if that's not the case, I think things will turn out fine, that's my best guess anyway! 😊
