That too ~ only they are Anzac biscuits out here. I'm not terribly fond of them but the man likes them & they keep really well.

Biscuits/cookies, French fries/chips, potato chips/crisps, etc...things can get kind of confusing when crossing country borders and the names of things

If I remember right, they have coconut in them so we would probably like them. I'll have to look up your Anzac Day and make them for it!

They do but they mostly taste of the syrup used for sweetening.

Oh the other 2 are easy ~ though all the PC nonsense has them embroiled in controversy. Australia Day celebrates the arrival of the 1st fleet & Europeans ~ so some indigenous people have their knickers in a knot about celebrating it ~ like those poor sods had any choice about getting dumped here! Honestly! I wonder about some people. The other remembers the landing @ Anzac Cove during WWI ~ but now includes the fallen from every war Australians & New Zealanders have served in. Bit like your Remembrance Day perhaps...?

Yeah, we all know about the PC nonsense here too, my grandfather was 1/2 Cherokee Indian, so it's part of my heritage, a heritage that I used to be proud of! Thank you for sharing this! Anzac does sound like what we call Memorial day, I like remembrance day too!

I just put it in the brains I carry around in my pocket...AKA the calendar on my smart phone! It will remind me the day before...so we can get our baking done!

Pumpkin Pie is finished...I have the French Pumpkin Pie in the oven and now I am starting on the Pecan!!! I followed this recipe...using my fresh pumpkin puree! I used a spoiler just for fun!

I tried a new recipe for Thanksgiving this year! It is a French Pumpkin Pie! A couple of things to note on this. It called for an 11" tart ring, I do not have one, so I baked it in my tart pan! I lined the pan with parchment paper, but realized after the fact than I should have greased the edges...oops! It also states that this pie should be eaten on the day it was baked, while still slightly warm, I didn't feel I would have time to do this tomorrow, so we are actually going to cut into it tonight after it cools a bit and we will have it again tomorrow to see which way we like it better! I'll report back if anyone is interested!
