Are you going to need to arrange the house any differently to accommodate her?Yes, life will definitely change! It will be good to have her here.![]()
Do you know which bacteria is causing the infection? I am a clinical microbiologist.I just had word from my sister. Mom's surgery went well, now they just need to get rid of the infection...sadly that might take a long time.
Thank you everyone!![]()
This sounds like excellent news. Especially if she likes it there. I have to ask Mrs BY Bob about walking with no hip. I can't picture that either. That broody girl...lol! She will be fine...this is what she's made for, even if she doesn't have a rooster!
Thank you!All things considered she's doing pretty well! We just found out she's going back to the rehab center she was in for her first 2 hip surgeries, she's happy about that as they have been really good to her during her previous stays. They are already working with her to start using a walker...I don't quite know how that works when you don't have a hip. My sister is supposed to get some more information tomorrow on how they are stabilizing the leg. It's hard being so far away and I wouldn't even be able to see her if I went down there. She struggles with remembering things, so it's hard to find out anything from her...she just doesn't know! She is in God's hands and I'm thankful for that!
Prayers for your Mom!I just had word from my sister. Mom's surgery went well, now they just need to get rid of the infection...sadly that might take a long time.

Good morning Bob! I was thinking about Lily when this happened and I'm hoping that my girl heals as quickly. This has happened to Lilly twice. The first time it took her a week to get over it. The second time not quite as long. I'm sure she just strained it much like my Lilly.
All we will have to do is move the queen bed out of the spare room & replace it with one of the twins. The queen bed is to tall for her & takes up too much space. When we built our house we made all of the doors 36" wide to make it easier to move furniture in and out and accommodate a wheelchair if ever needed and I'm so glad we did. I took care of my dad until he died from cancer & he was in a wheelchair at the end. Our shower is a walk in, so no changes there, we will have to put in a handicap assist for the toilet & if she is in a wheelchair we will probably add a ramp to the garage entry. It really won't take much. Are you going to need to arrange the house any differently to accommodate her?
It's actually a gut bacteria, I believe its called enterococcus. My mom is a 2 time cancer survivor & they believe that the bacteria seeped out of her colon...her insides are a mess from the radiation treatment she underwent. They tested the culture with different antibiotics to find the best one. I will ask my sister to find out what antibiotic they decided on. I knew you were a biologist, but didn't know you were clinical.Do you know which bacteria is causing the infection? I am a clinical microbiologist.
Yes I can't either, but I guess it's doable. Would love to hear what she knows about it.This sounds like excellent news. Especially if she likes it there. I have to ask Mrs BY Bob about walking with no hip. I can't picture that either.
