Our Mixed Flock Journey!

I used to see a lot of hawks when I lived in FL. Just me being outside with the flock did not deter them one bit.

One afternoon I was sitting outside with a RSL girl on my lap. She started squirming around and when I turned my head, there was a hawk about 5' away from us on a fence post eyeballing her. He just sat there and watched while I carried my bird into the coop. Even me standing up did not make him leave.
Wow! That is pretty bold!

That hawk must have had some of these cast iron bumper ornaments.

Hi Debby! That's crazy, what a bold bird!

They do not fear humans at all. I have a 7 foot peak on my tool shed. I had one sit on that peak while I screamed and waved my arms at it and not move a feather. I had to get a shovel handle to threaten it before it would leave. I do not like them.

They must be very used to humans, especially in the higher population areas!

Hi everyone! I hope you've all had a great day! We headed out early today to go cut down a walnut tree in my sister in laws back yard! We just got home and I wanted to say hi. I will try and catch up on everyone's threads later!

She had some other tree's in her yard trimmed, so she had them go ahead and take the smaller branches out of this one! My BIL in NV does wood turning, so a good portion of this will go to him. We would love to have some of it sawn for us to use later, but I'm not sure where to have that done. We need a small sawmill! Hubs had already cut off 4 other large branches by the time I took this picture. I got some video of it coming down too!
