They really do and that's why we've never bought any ...even though I would have loved to have a pair. Well, we have one for now, but I don't know how long. Someone might claim him & I'm good with that. For such pretty birds they make the most ghastly sounds.
Oh, I love the way they sound! It always makes me feel like I’m at the zooFor such pretty birds they make the most ghastly sounds.
I never thought of it that way! He will definitely make a lovely addition to our yard!Oh, I love the way they sound! It always makes me feel like I’m at the zoo
We have an amazing zoo here.. and the peacocks are roaming free there... so whenever we go that’s the main animal sound you will hear... I just love it!I never thought of it that way! He will definitely make a lovely addition to our yard!
I believe they roam free at the Seattle zoo too! I love them. We haven't seen him spread his tail feathers yet, he's pretty much hiding out in the back corner of our property, hopefully he will get comfortable & come into our yard so we can truly enjoy him.We have an amazing zoo here.. and the peacocks are roaming free there... so whenever we go that’s the main animal sound you will hear... We will need to figure out how to give him a warm place during the winter...they're not really cold weather birds. We're kind of thinking we might be able to convert the old chicken pen for him...we might slowly move his food and water into there. I need to see if anybody here at BYC keeps them.
Thank you Debby! I will do that. Hubs said that the peacock slowly walks away from him when he comes near, but doesn't seem as scared as he was.Check out the Peafowl forum for sure! Peafowl
