Our Mixed Flock Journey!

We have been getting some violent weather recently. This was couple days ago 40 miles west of us. All the weather from west eventually reaches us. (usual Weather pattern travel direction).

Yesterday,,, afternoon, a quick storm arrived in a matter in minutes. I was outside doing things, then a few sprinkles,, then a downpour. Wind turned WICKED:mad: In the time for me to get my dog from backyard into the house,,,, I was soaked. My dog gets very scared of storms and thunder, and heavy rain :hugs ,, She was shaking when inside home:old,, She is also afraid of fireworks:(

Glad you and yours are ok Cavey!

The rain is welcome,,,,,, but the tornadoes, and high winds associated could be left out. According to the weather person,,,, we are running lower than average on tornado touchdowns this year. I'm glad that most of the severe storm tracks have not hit us directly. Some pass to the north of us, and others pass to the south.
That's good news. We just don't experience that type of weather here. Sometimes we have to deal with high temps & high winds, but nothing to the extent of possibly losing our home or worse yet, our lives.

We are home. We went straight out to check on the flock & bunnies. Gave everyone a treat, grapes & zucchini for the flock & grape leaves for the bunnies. I haven't spotted the peacock yet, hopefully he's still here. It's 102 today...4 days of triple digits and then down in the 80's. Everyone looks healthy, except for my naked backed girls. I'm hoping to make the saddles for them soon. I should have just ordered some. Saw our new little hen, still on the outside of the pen...we will have to try and get her inside at some point so the dogs don't get her. I also picked a watermelon from the garden! 34lbs. 8.9oz.

Enjoying some zucchini. The grapes are gulped down as fast as I hand them out...:gig

I have such a fear of tornados. I surely hope no one was hurt or killed.

The weather service does a GREAT JOB, of early warning :old :thumbsup,, With early warning, people are able to take safety measures successfully. The last few tornadoes to come tru, did take down property, but injuries were minimal, and loss of life also none, or very minimal.
Buildings can be repaired and replaced. That is the reason most carry insurance.

For me it is from seeing the Wizard of Oz too young. I developed a fear of tornadoes and monkeys. I still have nightmare about each.

Our daughter bought her dad a shirt with stick monkeys on it that said "it's all fun and games until the flying monkeys attack". :gig
