Our Mixed Flock Journey!

A couple of raptor pics. These are juvenile Bald Eagles. I hope I can get a picture of the parents! Such magnificent birds!

I caught one flying back to the nest!

Very, very cool.
A couple of years ago I got obsessed by the camera they had on an eagles nest in DC. It was amazing seeing them grow and my heart totally missed a beat when the first one fledged and it took her really long time to figure how not to just fall. And the remaining baby spent the next few days on the edge of the nest calling to his sibling and she was stuck on a branch nearby but hadn't figured out how to fly up and back to the nest.
They had raptor experts on line in shifts explaining what was going on.
I couldn't take my eyes off it!
Looks like these ones may soon be ready to leave home if they are flying back and forth from the nest!

Amazing! Just amazing! 😮

Fun to see those pictures Rene!

I'm having so much fun. Sadly, I just missed what would have been an amazing video. One of the parent Eagles flew by with a fish in its talons & one of the babies was close behind...screeching to be fed. They are teaching them how to survive...totally amazing!

That would be such a fun thing to watch RC! My heart would be in my throat.

I suspect that as soon as possible, those Eagles should fly over to this place :idunno

We once had an Osprey mantle in a nearby tree with a large mullet. Showered bits of gore all over the place. And we've seen them take mullet so large they can't actually get height again & drag the catch through the water. Once the talons have locked on they can't unhook them so it's fly or drown!

Oh wow, I had no idea that could happen! Thank you for sharing that, I love learning new things! 💞
