Our Mixed Flock Journey!

The smoke is bad at our place again, so I've been pretty much restricted to staying inside again...:( Dale said he went out to take care of the flock & our little stray was near the gate. When he opened it she zipped past him & joined the flock. As soon as she was through she squatted for one of the roosters...we officially have a new hen. I'm hoping the smoke will clear up soon so I can see how she is doing with the rest of the flock. It should be easier to get a picture of her now and I will share as soon as I get one.
On the Peacock front...he's still here. I heard him & my roos going off this morning as I was trying to fall asleep. I don't know when we will get a peahen, Dale really doesn't want to start a project right now, so that is on the back burner. To be honest I don't want any big projects either, but I do want to get a companion for him.
Have a great day everyone. I'm going to take some more benadryl and try to get some more sleep.

Please take good care of yourself. :hugs :hugs

It's not weird at all. I assume you are applying topical benadryl, right?
I don't have any. They don't carry it in our local stores. I'm definitely going to get some when I get back to town or maybe I'll see if I can order some. All I have are pills & cortisone cream...the cream doesn't seem to do much & the benadryl only seems to slightly reduce the swelling.

Amazon has it. I bet it would get to you pretty quick.

Hi everyone! We've had quite a bit going on around here per usual, so not as much BYC time as I would like. We have another guest in our yard...a hen. She looks like some of my girls with missing back feathers. :( I haven't been able to get a picture of her yet. She's started hanging out over by our chicken pen. I expect to find her inside at some point. She has very upright tail feathers. She looks like she might be a Fayoumi or at least part.
I have found a peahen that I believe we will be getting. I think it will encourage our peacock to stick around. He really does seem to like our yard. I will share a picture of her if the lady will send me one. We will have to go pick her up, it's about 2 hours away, but before we do that we will have to convert the old chicken pen into a peafowl habitat. I can't believe I'm thinking about another project...I might need an intervention...😁
We will be gone for the next few days. Hubs is taking me on a getaway to a bed & breakfast for my birthday. The place is on a lake, so we will be taking our boat. I'm also taking the telescope, the owner is excited about it, there is an Eagles nest across the lake from their house, so we are hoping to get some good pictures. I will share if I get any.
We want a picture of your stray chicken.
I hope you do get a pea hen! Then you will have a pair of pea fowl, and maybe chicks some day!

Straight vinegar. You'll smell like the local chippy but it will help with the itch & swelling.
