Our Mixed Flock Journey!

:hugsto you and your Friends.
I keep reading soo many sad covid cases. :hugs I just don't understand why soo many peeps are not getting vaccinated. and it is no charge to get. :old:idunno
All my family members are vaccinated with exception of the young grandchildren. As soon as available, they will receive it also.
This is truly tragic times with soo many lost lives.:(

Sorry about your friend's father and best wishes for her mom. There's been so much loss for so many people this past year.

I am so sorry to hear that. :hugs:hugs

So sorry to hear.
:hugs

I will be lining up for a booster when available.

I’m so sorry... this sickness aint no joke😞
Thank you everyone! :hugs It has devastated many families! Len had some really bad health issues before he became sick, so he didn't stand much of a chance of surviving once he got this! Sadly it is here to stay. From what I've read on the nature of viruses: as a virus mutates, while it can become more contagious it will also become less deadly! Which is what happened with the Flu of 1918. People still get the flu today, but less potent versions of the original. I know that people can still die from the flu, but there are usually major underlying conditions.

@WhoDatChick, I'm so happy that you are still here with us today...such a scary thing to go through! :hugs 💞

Yes - they say maybe later this week or next. Someone I know just walked into a pharmacy in Atlanta and got a 3rd shot no questions asked. I am not so sure I want to do that but maybe!
I also would not just jump and get a third shot. The booster shot may be a different dose :old
The talk on the news last few days was,,,,,,, the booster shots may be available in September,,,,, and to the first recipients were likely the health care workers.

Yes, I agree, it will be best to wait! Even then, I'm not sure I will get one as I feel my body has already had such a great immune response to the first two shots I had. I know I can still get Covid, just like I can get the flu, but chances are slim and the illness will not be life threatening as I now have the antibodies in my system. That being said, I will continue to follow the research and make my final decision when the time comes. There is a lot of misinformation out there on this and omissions of information that you have to dig deep for, to really understand what is happening! I found the information on the mutations becoming more contagious, but less deadly when I did a search on the new variants we are seeing!

Not to mention the amount that is still unknown :old

I take the safe road,,,,, Even though I'm vaccinated, I still wear a mask when in public place like a store.
If everyone took these simple precautions,,, this virus would have not spread as rampantly as it did.

I just saw this article and thought it might put some fears to rest. It goes along with what I shared above!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/heal...9jUQlBoASNosA_YxrbYX-6RUeDQzQWap7_KY7MRXJbXg4

A paragraph from the article:
“Examining numerous cohorts through the end of July and early August, three points are now very clear,” CDC director Rochelle Walensky said at a White House covid-19 news briefing Wednesday. “First, vaccine-induced protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection begins to decrease over time. Second, vaccine effectiveness against severe disease, hospitalization and death remains relatively high. And third, vaccine effectiveness is generally decreased against the delta variant.”

Hi everyone! I've had a pretty sad day! One of my best friends lost her dad to Covid today and her mom is still in the hospital & very sick, but I'm pretty sure she will pull through.
Just wanted to say hi to all of you...my friends here, I highly value each of you & I hope that you are all doing well! 💞
:hugsSo sorry.:hugs

Thank you Jehane! :hugs I just feel so bad for my friend! She's in Oklahoma with her family and I can't even give her a hug...:(
I know but the Great Comforter is ours & more than able to do what we cannot. :hugs In these times, more than ever, He must be our Peace.

Amen, I tell myself this, but sometimes it is so comforting to hear it from someone else! Thank you Jehane and God bless! :hugs

Good morning all! I'm on my way to town this morning. I'm getting the Navigation screen replaced in my car & then getting another repair estimate for the tree damage. Hope you all have a great day! 💞

On a fun note, my husband and oldest son bought me a new camera for my Birthday! 💗 It arrived yesterday afternoon. I can now get pictures of our Peacock. He's so beautiful. I will take some flock pictures with it tomorrow! We are driving over to the west side on Saturday to go to the zoo, so I can take pictures with it.
It has a steep learning curve, but I'm so ready to stretch my brain & learn!
