Our new enclosure in progress...

Nice Space!!
You'll love that solid roof once snow starts to fly!

Wait....does the run roof go over the shed roof?

That could be a problem.

Replace that chicken wire with HC...coons can chew thru CW.

x2! The roof needs to either be in line/ integrated with the shed roof, or be lower than the shed roof. Every predator imaginable will get through that chicken wire! Hardware cloth, well secured, and also 2"x4" woven wire on the lower four feet of the run, all with fence staples, and then wood strips screwed into the framing over it.
And a dig-proof foundation all around.

Roof is against, not over roof line I still have a ridge cap to install. Just looks like that from photo. Have more hard cloth ordered. Thanks to our two blue tick hounds, the only predator problem we have had last 2 years is arial.

Thank you all for feedback, I'm planning on a layered approach for my defense. The upper outter with be chicken wire cause I had it left over and the inner shell will be hard cloth. (Awaiting arrival had to have budget overages approved from the wife). I like the apron link, right now I have trench for drainage and using a mix of HC and stones to make french style drain. Still need to dig the run off trench.
I plan on a small pond right out front to left of pen so all around enclosure will be stone as well.

Little update after much deliberation, redesign, research ( you guys @ BYC freaking rock ), a few budget disagreements ( so I went alittle overboard but had a bigger bonus than expected), and an awesome wife. We decided that why build twice when you can build it right the first time. So we are now turning the old shed into the coop.

So far I shored up all the sides and foundation. Replaced old floor and laid vinyl to make cleaning easier, I plan on one 4 x 5 pen and have not yet decided on either 2 small isolation/breeding pens or a second 4 x 5 pen. Still got alot of work to do but so far it's been an awesome learning experience. My dad came by today and was impressed with what this city slicker has been doing.
